Balmos, otherwise known as the Silent Prodigy, is a strange young boy who appeared on the doorsteps of Yukigakure during a heavy snowstorm by a group of unknown figures. He was unconscious on arrival and the only clue as to why he was left there was a note hidden inside the only piece of clothing he was accompanied by, his red scarf. The note read "Please watch over Balmos for us, L.D.", this L.D. presumably being one of the mysterious figures that he was dropped off by before they vanished like shadows on a sunny day.

Balmos spent most of his time in the village silently letting the days pass as he stayed in the orphanage, never opening his eyes but able to function completely fine without his sight leading some to call him a prodigy in some right. One day, during the night when all but a few of the nannies were asleep, Balmos was caught sitting on the roof of the orphanage by one of them only to shock the nanny with the revelation that he'd finally opened his eyes. Behind his eyelids were ones that put off most of his now brothers and sisters upon discovery...Balmos had the power of an inherited Sharingan. Not just a normal one either, his sharingan seemed to be permanently active with little to no side effects on his body.

While he still remained silent, he began to open up more to the other orphans and soon regained their trust as the "older brother" of the children, sort of the silent angel. This did not last long though as, two months after the revelation of his Sharingan, Balmos had a dream of a large, teal-haired man who left him with a simple message "Don't deny the Nightmare..." This strange man vanished from his dreams the night after, leaving Balmos just a little more than confused, with more questions to himself than answers, but he chose to ignore it for now. Soon after the dreams stopped, Balmos got the urge to start training his cooking skills even more than before, being found each morning afterward in the kitchen of the orphanage cooking breakfast for everyone with what few ingredients he could find.

As of now, Balmos also helps out in the village whenever he can as a temporary cook for the smaller restaurants, further improving his cooking skills as he does so, with nothing changing in the foreseeable future.

Appearance

Balmos appears to be around 11 or 12 years old, with his "on-the-record" age being 11, standing around average height for an 11 year old. His hair is a dark blue color and his eyes are always in a state of Sharingan with skin of a light peach color and a single scar on the left corner of his mouth. Around his eyes seems to be irremovable makeup that gives him a snake-like appearance. He usually wears a loose set of dark, pale red cargo capri's along with a brown, long-sleeved jacket with the sleeves loosely rolled up to his elbows. For shoes, he wears some worn-out black boots with odd magenta soles he colored in himself with berries he got from a traveling trader, always loosely tied. He also wears a pale red scarf around his neck every day since he was found outside Yukigakure, it seems to be too large for his body though he seems to be very aware of where it is at all times thereby preventing his tripping on it every 5 seconds.

Personality

Balmos is a rather quiet child, tending to keep to himself unless around his "siblings" in the orphanage. He seems to be well in-tune to the emotions of others, able to know what's bothering a person from a simple glance and figure out how to solve said problem in a rather fast manner. He also shows an inclination with culinary equipment, often helping out in the kitchens during lunch and dinner times, and nearly topping the cooking the nannies do for them each time. Outside of his cooking abilities, Balmos seems to be quite clumsy. When asked to use weapons or tools that don't involve cooking he seems to struggle to understand how they work, and usually winds up cutting or injuring himself or others when attempting to use them, the frequency of his constant misuses of the weapons has prompted the Academy to not test his chakra nature or usage for fear of it potentially exploding the Academy on a failed test, but it has been witnessed that Balmos is able to manipulate ice or moisture around him to turn it into ice, leading many of the teachers to assume he has the rare Ice Release.

• Balmos is clumsy with nearly every single basic weapon he tries to wield, unless it's one made from Ice.
• Balmos has never spoken since the moment he was found, with many coming to the conclusion that he is simply a Mute.
• Balmos has an innate proficiency for culinary arts, showing absolute glee in the simple process of just making the food and watching people's reactions.
