Background

Honami's blood parents are unknown to her, as she was given up for adoption upon being born. However she was adopted by two women from the Land of Water (Mayako and Izumi) who raised her as their own. Joining the Ninja Academy of Kirigakure at the age of 8 the young girl would reveal herself to be a puzzling ball of contradictions. She showed great aptitude for Bukijutsu (specifically Kenjutsu), Taijutsu, and, in an odd pairing, Genjutsu. After graduating at the age of 12 she also revealed the capacity for the Ice Release Kekkei Genkai, in spite of her own hot-blooded nature. After operating as a shinobi of Kirigakure for a time she gained some renown for her unique Ice Release techniques, which always formed an entracing ebony ice, quite against her will. This gained her the nom de guerre "Hakuhyō" or Black Ice Hirase.
