Data

Wielder

Kartika is a iridescent and jagged dagger that is thin, brittle, and blunt, and symbolizes the severance of all material and worldly bonds. It has the combat efficiency of a regular dagger, and it would not be suitable for even killing a single person. Its actual purpose is that of a key used for rituals that is described as an "indulgence from the Age of Gods that is forgiven anything for one purpose."

Its unique ability behaves as a bane to all modes of seals, particularly contracts and all bound by them both physically, spiritually, and conceptually. Once Kartika comes into contact with an ensorcelled item or person, enchantments, connections bounded through contracts, and creatures created and maintained by chakra will all be reverted to their original components to a state "before they were made." It is a blade of betrayal that will sever all connections between a summoner and summoning by destroying every single rule that controls them, before shifting full control of the summoner's summoning privileges to its wielder. Humanoids bound by a contract themselves must be the target, as it has no effect on the summoner's contract with the summoning by stabbing the former's flesh.

Ultimately it counters most Fūinjutsu, Barrier Ninjutsu and Summoning Ninjutsu in existence.

Influence

A kartika is a small, symbolic crescent knife or 'chopper', used in Vajrayana Buddhist ceremonies. It symbolizes the severance of all material and worldly bonds and is crowned with a vajra, which is said to destroy ignorance, and leads to enlightenment. The kartika is a key ritual implement in the Tibetan Buddhist practice of Chöd, or 'cutting through demons'. In Buddhist teachings, this tool is held in the right hand of Yama, the conqueror of death. It is also used in Feng Shui.
