Kazumo is a young and quiet shinobi who hails from the land of Kirigakure. Not much is known about this girl besides the fact that she remains within the village most of the time and rarely travels out to the other villages. As such, she is not seen that often outside in public.
She grew up in Kirigakure when times were tough. She trained day in and day out in order to hone her skills, and when the time came, it paid off. Passing the Chuunin exams made her realize that in order to succeed in life, she would need to continue on in her training, and came to the conclusion that staying secluded in one village wouldn't be enough. Leaving her hometown in Kirigakure, she travelled the lands to improve her skills and knowledge of jutsu that she probably would never had been exposed to had she stayed in her home with her father and mother.
Through her travels, she gained knowledge of many ninjutsu, but decided to concentrate on Suiton, Raiton, and Fuuton abilities, in addition to her family's secret Kekkei Genkai, Hyouton no Kokkan. Training in obscure villages, faraway towns in the mountains, distant hidden places; all of it helped to augment her already well-rounded skills. It was during her travels that she gained the dual swords that she currently wields.
She returned home after many years of intense physical and mental training. Kaz never had the urge to go back and try to progress in the ranks of the system to Jounin, or even become a Hunter Nin, because although she has the qualifications, she doesn't see why a rank should define who a person is. Now, her main focus is to watch over Kirigakure and guard it by any means necessary and so she remains settled within the confinds of the village.
Seven Swordsmen of the Mist
After having been settled in Kirigakure for a long while after her travels, Kazumo went through the application process and questioning in order to even be considered for the Swordsmen. After undergoing various physical fighting examinations of strength and display of Kenjutsu ability, she was put to the final test. Accompanying a few others from the Swordsmen organization, they launched an attack on Konohagakure, after which she was admitted into the 6th seat.
After years of remaining in Kirigakure and serving on the Secondary Council for the village she was bestowed the legendary sword Nuibari to utilize in battle (1/19/13).
After holding a seat for a few years, she now spends her days in quiet retirement. Since then, she has returned any Seven Swordsmen items and relaxes near the beach to let her jellyfish summons play.
