Kibōkiri (希望斬り, Hopecutter) is a Jian sword, the property of Zikeus Hōzuki. It was specially crafted by Zikeus' uncle as a gift for his promotion to the rank of jōnin.
The blade of this sword is crafted from a special alloy made up of Obsidian, Iron and an unknown chakra-attuned metal (like those used in the creation of Chakra Blades). This unique combination not only increases the weapon's durability, but also allows its user to more easily channel chakra through and. In addition, like Chakra Blades, a certain amount of chakra can be stored into it for performing techniques from a distance.
