Mecha-Kurama (メカ九喇嘛, Meka-Kurama) was a mechanised replica of Kurama that appears in the anime-exclusive episodes and Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution.

Within ShinobiLegends, Mecha-Kurama was developed and created by Becquerel for the purpose of defending Otogakure from large-scale attacks as well as potential Tailed Beasts attacks.

In the anime, Mecha-Kurama was created by Orochimaru for the purpose of demolishing Konohagakure.

Mecha-Kurama's main body looks like a robot version of a fox-like creature. It has a golden head along with a golden chest-piece, black lower extremities as well as shoulders, and the remainder of its body is a dull silver. Small portions of red paint further accentuate the 'Kurama-look'. It is equally as large as the real Kurama and has nine tails made out of pure flames that can activate based off of its power output. The flame tales do not need to be constantly active as to prevent any accidental collateral damage.

Being made from the same material as Mecha-Naruto, Mecha-Kurama was invulnerable to all but the most extreme attacks. It is able to fire lasers from its eyes as well as fire Nine-Tails Chakra Bombs from its mouth. Along with that, it has a large supply of missiles and other munitions. It also has the ability to modify portions of its body to attack as well as adapt to its situation. The Mecha-Kurama can either be piloted, with its pilot acting much like a Jinchūriki in Tailed Beast Mode, or it can be operated off of AI alone. Of course, its full potential can only be released when piloted by a competent ninja.

When one enters the cockpit of the Mecha-Kurama, they strap their self into a special device that allows them to connect their chakra network to the Mecha-Kurama's in order to allow for a more natural control style. Of course, to protect the pilot, this link can be severed in the case of potential chakra-absorbing abilities. The cockpit itself is a panoramic cockpit, which creats a 360 degree field of vision for the pilot, and also allows the user to stand and move seamlessly with the Mecha-Kurama.

  • Its appearance is heavily reminiscent of Mecha anime from the 1970s and 80s, particularly the Mazinger series.
  • Much like Mecha-Naruto, Mecha-Kurama is a parody of MechaGodzilla from the Godzilla franchise.
