The greatsword, Samehada, is one of the 7 blades the were wielded by the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. After having the blade returned from the Rokudaime Tsuchikage, Tsuyo, the blade would fall into the possession of the Sandaime Mizukage, Rakudo. The blade is now in the possesion of the Seven Swordsmen's first seat, Tenzo.
Rather than cutting like a normal blade, Samehada shreds and shaves its enemies, due to the scales along it's length. It is as tall as a man and is normally bound by cloth. When unbound it is shown to be much wider and covered from hilt to point in scales, at the tip of the blade, there is a mouth, fully equipped with teeth and a tongue. One can store items within Samehada's mouth as well. The hilt of the blade can also twist and extend, allowing the user to wield the sword like a flail. It can cut through and absorb chakra, even the dangerous chakra of a bijuu, and the sword can fuse with the user to give them access to it's stores of chakra, or even heal great damage.
